Yes, went in to work today. Still in pain, but there's a limit to how behind I can be on stuff.

Also, cleaning cat litter this morning was made of pain. I've never wanted this thing more. Taking out the trash itself wasn't fun, either. Nor was walking to the bus, or walking from the bus to work (almost all uphill). Double ow.

My office-mate was nice enough to secure a hard chair, which is making life a lot easier, as my Aeron, although normally wonderful, puts a lot of weight where it doesn't need to be.

Sitting in the soft but tiny chairs at Elayna's band concert last night was definitely not a fun thing, incidentally. But watching Elayna play was worth it.

That picture needs a caption:

The automated litter box is USELESS. I tried one for three days. They feared/hated it. I know that because they pooped on the rug for the first time in over 4 1/2 years.

I'm intrigued by this catbox.

Our previous Poop Robot was the Littermaid 3000 or whatever, with the flat rake. This would get wedged on every clump, with the result being 20 minutes of earsplitting whining followed by the rake suddenly catapulting the clump across the room.

This one sounds like it would avoid the Catshit Trebuchet effect nicely.

I've had the Littermaid, the Litter Robot, and the Cat Genie. Of the three, the Cat Genie is the best, if your cats will use it. But the litter does track everywhere. It is great not throwing away a metric ton of litter every week, though.

The Litter Robot is also quite good. The downside is that the drawer capacity is kind of small. If you only have one cat, that shouldn't be a problem, though. Also, every once in a while, you will get smears on the outside, which is disgusting. You have to be good about wiping the inside down because some cats won't use it as it gets stinky. And the globe may be a bit small for big cats. I have one dumbass cat that wouldn't turn around once he got in, so he was always pooping on the stoop; I think it was because he is almost too big for it (and too dumb).

I don't recommend the Littermaid. It can work ok with World's Best Cat Litter, and the newer versions come with a scoop that cleans the tines, but really the design is faulty. Too many nooks and crannies, weak motor, too much surface area for sticking.
