I've bitched before about the fact that there's no need for a remake of Clash of the Titans.

But letting that no-talent fuck Stephen Norrington (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) direct? Why not just hand the thing straight to Uwe Boll and be done with it?

And yes, I know it's written by Lawrence Kasdan. But three of his four films since The Grand Canyon have been Mumford, The Bodyguard, and Dreamcatcher (the last of which he also directed, and has way to weasel out of blame). Color me unimpressed.

Please sign me up for the Don't Need To Remake Clash of the Titans camp. Just because SFX are so much better now doesn't mean you're going to make a better movie. Why not just make something new that has some of the same elements? Greek mythology is public domain, f'r chrissakes.

2. Unlike some mythology-based movies (*cough*Disney's Hercules*cough*) it didn't make any attempts to recast things in a Judeo-Christian light, with the villain equalling Satan.

Yeah, I liked Mumford too, but this has "Flaming Shit-Angels of Suck" written all over it.

I don't think that the writing could save it, except for possibly Aaron Sorkin or Joss Whedon.
