Let's hear it for the Internet

George Martin has started a page for the Wild Card Books. That's good.

He included one of those Meebo chat widgets. There are all sorts of reasons I hate these things (including aesthetics, browser load, etc), and I generally Adblock them, anyway. But this reminded me of yet another reason I hate 'em: they attract Internet users. And Internet users are generally morons:

Bleh, chat rooms. I used one of those meebo widgets on my Vox for Blogathon for people to chat with me and keep me awake because I was NOT going to give out my AIM to half the world - MISTAKE. I had forgotten just how stupid the average internet user was. I'll never forget again.
