I love this article. Making up Trek specials is funny enough, but the Firefly, Cowboy Bebop, and Oblivion ones are aimed squarely at the fanboys. I mean, if the phrases Jewel Staite as the Suger Plum Fairyor a duet of All I Want for Christmas by Isaac Hayes and George Takei don't get your attention, the article probably isn't for you.

(And yes, I know that one of these shows, technically, actually existed. But I think most people just pretend that the original Star Wars Christmas Special was a bad dream).

I love seeing the Firefly cast popping up on various shows recently. Mal's on Desperate Housewives, Jayne's on Chuck, River's on that new Terminator / Sarah Conner TV show...

Happy Life Day!

(The joys of being just old enough to have watched the SWHS when it aired, and to remember it, but not to have been old enough at the time to realize just how much it sucked.)

As was I. Born Nov. 1st, 1973. Saw Star Wars in its re-release in 1978, when I was not yet 5; it's probably among one of the first three or so films I ever saw in a theater. Saw SWHS later that year, when I finally was 5. I don't remember the Boba Fett animated bit (and, blessed be, I don't remember Bea Arthur or Leia's song either), but I do remember Han and Chewie and, of course, Wookiee World.

Plus Wash is an unctuous E! Channel exec in Knocked Up.

Yeah, these are actors who like to keep working...

At a con I attended, there was a late night panel called "The Star Wars Christmas Special Is Not A Drinking Game." (meaning, of course it was) From the reports from the panel's attendees, though, there was still not enough booze to make the special palatable...
