New Year's Links
Jan. 1st, 2008 07:38 pmHappy 2008! May this year be better than 2007 for everyone.
1. Today's "that's very nice" moment at Amazon: My son is 10 years old and read the entire book in a day. That would be impressive if the book weren't a YA manga. It's not like your kid just scarfed down Watchmen.
2. Semi-regular reminder: Yendiopolis is still seeking new residents.
3.
dhole notes some of the mistakes made by fantasy writers when dealing with small villages.
4. Science has given me yet another excuse for being overweight! Fuck you, stupid genetic deficiencies!
5.
nihilistic_kid is selling cheap-ass copies of Move Under Ground ($5 including shipping and his signature). I reviewed it some four years back for Bookslut, and still recommend it.
6. At yet another one of his blogs,
scottwrites is giving away a copy of Teen Titans Season 4.
7. Starbucks might help indie coffee shops. I'm sure that Mr. and Mrs. Tweak will be thrilled to hear this.
8. What assorted smart people have changed their mind about. Some fascinating stuff there.
9. Mike Resnick is releasing a sequel to one of my favorite books! Um, at least I assume it's a sequel to Stalking the Unicorn.
10. Finally, here's a recipe for Mocha Brownie Thins, which sound amazing.
