Date: 2008-01-07 05:05 pm (UTC)I was just watching a show on the evolution of musicals, and they talked about how so many songs from musicals became pop hits on their own, and people don't know what they mean when they're removed from the stories. One songwriter was going on about how pop artists keep singing the songs wrong because they lack context.
