Good: Diablo Cody's turned in her next script.

Good: It's a horror comedy (Described as a Heathers-type dark comedy, it tells the story of a seemingly-perfect cheerleader whose life is thrown into disarray when she gets possessed by a demon, begins eating boys in her small Minnesota town, then faces off against her best friend and the Satan-worshipping band that made her evil).

Good: It stars Megan Fox, who does nothing for me, but will bring in big crowds of teenaged males who think that seeing the movie will get her to sleep with them.

Bad: It's being directed by Karyn Kusama. If this sucks half as much as Aeon Flux did, Kusama will be able to start calling herself the female Uwe Boll.

I understand. She already seems a little...manufactured in her face, even though I'm positive she's not. She just looks odd to me. (Michael Bay has freaky taste in women, I think...The only actress in one of his films I've really responded to in the film was Vanessa Marcil in The Rock. The processing he does to give everything that Bay-glow does something weird to attractive women, at least I think so. Wow, I'm dissertating on how women look in Michael Bay movies...)

Am I alone in thinking that the plot for this sounds really, really stupid?

well, bear in mind that she worked as a director-for-hire on aeon flux. during her time working on that, sherry lansing -- whose pet project was AF -- left paramount. (i believe final cut might have been taken away from her as well.) i'm not saying that AF wasn't a steaming pile, but the circumstances under which it was made was, shall we say, less than ideal. based on the strengths of her first feature, girlfight, i'm happy that she's getting another chance to make a film, and under much better circumstances.

if you haven't seen it already, add girlfight to your netflix queue. it's not perfect, but i remember enjoying it.

Don't tell Uwe that.

First he'll make another bad video game movie and then he'll challenge her to a boxing match.
