It's a snow day, both for my workplace and for Elayna's school. Of course, both only made the decision this morning (as opposed to the schools in Belmont, Cambridge, Somerville, Waltham, and Newton, all of which had announced closings before we headed to bed), so no sleeping in. *grumble* I swear, I think that Lexington is the only other town in this part of the state that waited until the morning.

1. Google Calculator supports the Potrzebie system!

2. My dislike for Clay Aiken continues to grow.

3. Two free and fun games: Passage, which is more an experiment than an actual game (but which I find fascinating), and Ballistic Wars, which is an addictive mix of Advance Wars and pool (although I'm stuck on level fourteen of the latter).

4. If your dad is a chemistry professor, asking "why" can be dangerous.

5. Blu-Ray wins, but anyone who bought into Blu-Ray already might be screwed. Lovely.

6. For anyone who insists that the New Hampshire results are skewed based on folks lying to pollsters about supporting a black man (the Bradley Effect), Electoral Vote suggests it ain't so, as Obama finished with almost exactly what he polled with (although the Bradley Effect also covers statistically large numbers of undecideds swinging for one candidate, as well).

7. "I mean, MY knee jerk reaction, every time I see Ryan Seacrest, for instance, is to wish him a forced march off to a collective farm/reeducation camp." Have I mentioned that I love Tony Bourdain's blog?

8. M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel are now making a full album together!

9. Panic at the Disco: Now 100% exclamation-point free.

10. Broken Lizard's precipitous drop in quality (Club Dread being about a third as good as Super Troopers, and Beerfest being about a third as good as Club Dread) looks to continue next year with The Slammin' Salmon.
