Still trying to get back on kilter, as it feels like a Monday, and I've got the usual post-con exhaustion. I've got about a zillion tabs open. Let's change that.

1. Someecards: When You care enough to hit send. Fucking hilarious (ganked from [livejournal.com profile] tnh over at Making Light).

2. A glossary of the Tom Cruise Scientology Video.

3. Anatomy of a Donut (ganked from [livejournal.com profile] zarq, I think).

4. Congratulations to Razzie nominees Eddie Murphy and Lindsay Lohan on their nominations. They're well-deserved.

5. Selma Blair on a TV series!

6. A good look at the process by which Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday become a national holiday. Incidentally, this article once again confirms that Jesse Helms, when he finally exits this mortal coil, will finally have done something to make the world a better place.

7. Translating Huckabee (ganked from [livejournal.com profile] pnh at Making Light).

8. Yuki_onna on children, affection, and bravery (amongst other things). Having a hanky might not be a bad thing when reading this one.

9. Fox Searchlight has bought distribution rights to Choke. Woohoo!

10. Finally, don't forget to visit Yendiopolis!

Not that in any way am I against Selma Blair in a TV series, but... that article says she's playing Molly Shannon's daughter? She's 36, Molly Shannon's 44... I know Selma Blair's youthful looking, but that still seems a bit, erm, off to me. (Though I guess if Angelina Jolie can be Colin Farrell's mom and Winona Ryder can be Zachary Quinto's...)

That would be Martin Luther King. I would presume Martin Luthor King would be the evil supergenius who heads the Legion of Jim Crow.

2. I thought it was funny that he was using "SP" as a derogatory term, since "SP" made me think of "South Park"...

The most interesting thing about item 7 is that there's an ad on the right side of the page that's just a picture of Commander Data, and it leads to data.org, which is a charity organization. Bizarre.

Someecards are fantastic! I send them out to people on a weekly basis, as they crack me up.

A good donut should have deep cracks, twists and ridges
that get all extra browned in that crispy crumbly tasty
way. Like bacon.. hmm, bacon flavoured donuts.

Ironically, Dunkin Donut's crullers were like that,
because they were heavily twisted to get that shape and much better
than their donuts, till they stopped making them, finally realizing
that they were like, up to fifty percent heavier than their donuts.

There is/was a tiny place in Central Sq. at the NE corner that
makes/made fantastic homemade donuts.

I hope the writers strije doesn't cause the Razzies to get cancelled too. I would hate it if they did a show with people just reading off the list of winners while picketters stand outside looking bored. :P

I love someecards. Sending friends offensive cards is a great distraction from school work.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this yesterday. Norbit was nominated for an Academy Award. Honest! (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0477051/awards)

Yes, there is a chance, albeit slim, that a month from now DVDs will proclaim that Norbit is an Academy Award winning film!

They admired the makeup work. If only they hadn't used their powers for evil.
