When Captain America throws his mighty shield,
All those who chose to oppose his shield must yield.
And ask in confusion, "hey, is that Bucky in the Red, White and Blue?"
Yeah, well, he was resurrected (and unlike the Bucky resurrection in the '70s, this one's going to stick), turned evil (aka Commie) by brainwashing, was cured by the Cosmic Deus Ex Cube, tried to kill Tony Stark, stole Cap's shield, and, well, hey, look over there! It's Jason Todd!
When Captain America throws his mighty shield.

(Also, what's the the tense disagreement in the song, anyway? "Throws his shield" and "those who chose to oppose" in the same sentence?)

They had chosen to oppose the shield before the shield was thrown. In fact, it was the choice that instigated said shield-throwing.

No. In my sentence, it must be "had chosen" because I put the throwing of the shield in the past tense.

You could certainly change "chose" to "have chosen," but it would be a slightly different meaning. Both options are correct.

That really is the most awkward super hero song I think I have ever heard.

Will Bucky stay Cap America when the movie comes down the pike? Or will someone make another deal with Mephisto, Prince of Darkness and Massive Retcons, by then?

Dude, you need it for that sweet rhyme scheme. Besides, presumably they chose to oppose before he throws.

Well, they don't have to yield. They may choose to. Alternatively, he can just beat them to death.

Besides, if they didn't reveal themselves until after throws his mighty shield, then they probably won't get hit with it. Are we to assume that this is some sort of magic shield that can detect unseen villains?

I approve of your phraseology. Ahhh, assonance...

I knew the second I heard that Bucky was alive, that he'd eventually be Captain America.

That said, lame, lame, lame.

Have you read it?

The story has been anything but lame.

Writing isn't just the dialogue, it's also the story he's telling. So saying he's a great writer but his story sucks is a bit warped.

But we agree to disagree, either way. I think the story is far from bad.
