Tons of Amazon DVD sales

I'm not sure why (since neither the $Winterholiday or Valentine's Day crowds are likely to be deal hunting), but Amazon's initiated six good DVD sales:

1. Okay, so the Easter-themed sale makes sense, I guess. Deals here include 50% off on 47 movies, including The Song of Bernadette, The Passion of the Christ, The Agony and the Ecstasy, David and Bathsheba, and (of course), Stigmata.

2. The Classic TV sale is simply huge, with hundreds of choices at 45% off and up. Deals include Betty Boop, Perry Mason, Monty Python, Mary Tyler Moore, Benny Hill, That Girl, Mission Impossible, Barney Miller, The Fugitive, I, Claudius, Emergency, The White Shadow, Happy Days, The Addams Family, Family Affair, Sesame Street, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Underdog, Flipper, Electric Company, Dick Tracy, The Odd Couple, Mork and Mindy, Bewitched, Laverne and Shirley, Green Acres, Star Trek, UFO, Buck Rogers, Thunderbirds, The Time Tunnel, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and The Wild Wild West. As well as dozens of others. This is a huge sale.

3. The Film Noir Favorites sale includes 40 movies at 47% off, including Laura, Nightmare Alley, Fallen Angel, Panic in the Streets, Dressed to Kill, and lots of others. Laura, especially, belongs in every DVD collection.

4. The Classics Sale includes 50% off deals on An Affair to Remember, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Some Like it Hot, The Great Escape, The Manchurian Candidate (the real one), Desk Set, Marty, and dozens of others.

5. The Learning Made Fun sale includes tons of toddler and pre-teen DVDs, including The Last Unicorn, Alice in Wonderland, Charlotte's Webb, Annie, Blue's Clues, Barney (*shudder), Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob the Builder, Dora the Explorer, and assorted Land Before Time movies.

6. Finally, there's the Sci-fi and Fantasy sale, with up-to-50% off 54 films, including Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Jason and the Argonauts, Heavy Metal, Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children, Kull, Starship Troopers, The Fifth Element, Mirrormask, and assorted Godzilla movies.
