On balance, I'd rather watch films by Paul W.S. Anderson than ones by Paul Thomas Anderson.

Put that in your milkshake and drink it up.

I've actually had the thought about Paul W.S. Anderson: "As action filmmakers go, he's no James Cameron, but he's no Uwe Boll either." I can rationalize!

And the women in W.S.'s life and films are hotter than P.T.'s. Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, that Brigette Wilson who married the tennis player... Not even my things for Fiona Apple and Melora Walters (and my acknowledgement that P.T.'s partner Maya Rudolph is pretty cute) can quite compete with that pulchritude parade.

But we shall agree to disagree about other P.T.-related thoughts.

Yeah, have to disagree. Of the 6 released movies Paul WS Anderson has directed, I haven't liked any of five that I have seen.

On the other hand, I like at least five of PT Anderson's movies (considering There Will Be Blood to be a masterpiece of filmmaking).

I guess I've taken your share of "indie movie snob" cred. *smiles*

The AvP guy? Dude, if you have to pick and choose a director named Anderson at least go with a guy who isn't a total hack. Please. Screw "indie cred". Lets just stick with quantifiable good taste. Which you've shown (even with a love for cheesy horror) to have in spades...

I still haven't seen There Will Be Blood, and people keep telling me it'll be the one that makes me like PTA, but we'll see.

I feel similarly about Tony and Ridley Scott.

nope, agreeing with you. come on, resident evil was hilariously fun.

and there will be blood was just kind of unsettling to me. life sucks when you get money. wow, that was awkward. good film, but really disturbing. but resident evil wasnt disturbing, just goofy.

sounds like a good opinion to me.
