"Debate" implies something debatable. There's no fucking evolution debate. If I insisted that there was no wall six feet from my desk, we wouldn't be having a "debate." To paraphrase some guy named Monty, debate is an intellectual process; contradiction is the automatic gainsaying of any statement the other person makes. And the folks fighting against the textbooks are just contradictory, and generally not even capable of participating in an intellectual process.
