New Smullyan?

How the hell did a new Raymond Smullyan book get released last year without registering on my radar?

Yes, The Magic Garden of George B. And Other Logic Puzzles has been out for nearly half a year. And I don't own it.

And at $35, it'll likely be a while before I do. But dammit, I will have this by the end of the year.

Well, foo; it looks like none of the library systems I have access to have it. Minuteman doesn't have it anywhere in the system, the MIT libraries don't have it and even if they did I won't have borrowing privileges much longer, and the BPL doesn't have it.

Sounds like it's not just your radar that it's flown under.

Heh. Yeah, I should have mentioned that I'd already tried Minuteman. I did put an ILL request in at the university at which I work, but I'll be shocked if they find it soon.

Wow -- that brings back memories. I took logic from Arthur Smullyan at Rutgers back in 1974 or so. I don't know whether he and Raymond Smullyan were cousins or brothers, but I'm pretty sure they were related.

They almost have to be (given the uncommon name and the uncommon field), but I can't find any mention of both of them together.

I couldn;t resist looking for evidence. I dug up a genealogy (sp?) that mentions both names. http://keyfitz.org/nathan/memoir/17.html I did a bit of cross checking with public records and verified that the Arthur listed there is the one who taught at Rutgers. If that's also the right Raymond, I guess they were cousins.
