Wow. I've never read John Ringo before, but now I'm tempted. It's like the Van Helsing of thriller novels.

Funniest thing I've read in ages.

And props to John Ringo for this response.

Wait until you see the really weird stuff he publishes under his pseudonym 'George Paul.'

And, yeah, I want to read his stuff now that I know he finds it as ridiculous as everyone else does. It's like he shat it out for shits and giggles and then was like 'You want to publish it?? Uh...okay...'

I'm not sure I could force myself. Not because I think Ringo is All That, just... I'm not sure I could read it just for the train wreck factor.

I like his War With The Posleen series *much* better.

I've read most of his books. Some are quite good, but the Ghost series is at least as bad as that guy says it is (but you can't stop looking). There are a couple of characters in his earlier series that are vaguely proto-Ghost characters, from before he gave up suppressing his id and went whole-hog with Ghost; but once he started writing those novels, he didn't feel the need to create any more proto-Ghosts in his subsequent other series. And just to swing to the opposite extreme, he's got a main character in another book (which has yet to generate any sequels that I know of) who is a married Christian soccer mom who also just happens to be a martial artist gun nut capable of channelling the awesome power from God Himself. I really wonder what would happen if she ever met the Kildar.

I think that one's the best, but the Looking Glass series is coming along nicely, too.

After seeing this linked from every possible corner of my f-list over the last couple of days, I finally read it. And laughed my ass off. Yay! And the OH JOHN RINGO NO! icon may be the best thing I've ever seen.

I have some of the posleen books in hardback, but I read part of Ghost in the bookstore and umm. Oh John Ringo No! Sadly, I still wanted to go back and read more of it. It was bad, but I couldn't stop looking.

My friends were just telling me about this last night. I think OH JOHN RINGO NO may enter the general conversational lexicon, as an alternate take on "Oh, honey, no." (Usually reserved for tragic fashion mistakes and stupid things America's Next Top Models do.)
