Yes, there's a sequel coming out to Donnie Darko.

It has no Richard Kelly involvement, and it looks like Daviegh Chase is the only returning cast member.

Hollywood continues to beg for a collective kick in the crotch.

Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?

Sometimes it's NICE when things don't have sequels. Let it simmer in and become part of the great societal unconcious for a few decades and then let people start bringing new takes on it, but JEEBUS, why a sequel?

We already have a new Donnie Darko.

The Director's Cut changed so much**
from the original film
that it's basically a new film,
a new version of how it shows what happens.

**he even removed some scenes
and changed the visuals, sound effects,
music and added new scenes,
as well as deleted for time scenes.

I just wish they had packaged it with the
original theatrical release instead of the
useless second disc
of offputting nutjob fan material
and "how we chose these locations" extras.

The story has been told and it is finished.
A stand alone film.
THere is absolutely no need for a sequel.

They've already wanted to colourize or remake
films like Casablanca, etc.
Are they now going to insist on a Casablanca 2
or a Gone with the Wind 2 or Citizen Kane 2

Your comment appears on my screen as a set of evenly lengthed short lines. It looks like a poem. Bits of it even rhyme. =:o}

Oh, forgot about that one...
Huh, i guess any comment i could make
about the lack of imagination prevailing
in Hollywood would rather rhetorical :)

I'm not the most perceptive film viewer on the planet, but I sort of thought the world ended at the end of the first movie. Or maybe just the rabbit died...?

Sounds bad, but I'll probably have to see it. The curiosity will be unbearable otherwise.
