I know that it's already got some bad buzz, and it's associated with a director who has stumbled a bit (even though The Lady in the Water was actually pretty damned good, once you get past the use of the word "Narf"), but I really like this trailer for The Happening.

But could it possibly surpass The Box Social? :D

this is the first time i've seen anyone refer to 'lady in the water' as good, let alone 'damned good.'
personally, i really disliked it.
that being said, it's the first film of his that i did dislike, so i'm still looking forward to 'the happening.'

Really? Wow. I couldn't stand Signs. I kept hoping it'd get better, but it just didn't. Lady in the Water was at least tolerable, and I actually enjoyed much of it. But I've got a man-crush on Paul Giamatti. Speaking as a stutterer, that as the best depiction of a stutterer in a movie I've ever seen.

i thought giamtti was great in it, actually.
but that couldn't save the movie, for me.

Yeah, okay, not a bad trailer. But The Happening? As a title? Seriously? That's even worse than Cloverfield.

I'm really looking forward to someone parodying this with Re-run dancing with some bees.

I'm looking forward to it. But then, I've got a notoriously high tolerance for crap :)

I liked Lady in the Water -- at least, I liked the good movie in it that was stifled by the director's unfortunate arrogance. I saw it with two film buffs and they were rabidly in hate with it and argued untypically with me all the way home for liking it.

I think it looks far worse...and I checked out the script, so I know it really is, not of the good.

I thought LITW was good as well. I don't know what people were complaining about.
