Donna: Oh shit, I'm burning up because I suddenly remembered my advanced Time Lord Knowledge, which is too much for my puny human mind to handle, and since I'm not part of an OTP with The Doctor, he can't just kiss it out of me like he could when, say, Rose absorbed all the bloody power in the Tardis. And now, I die.

Wilfred: Dammit, how the hell didn't the Doctor think to warn those people!

Mickey (still on the other end of the line): Oh well, maybe we can call Sarah Jane and spend twenty minutes waiting for Mr. Smith to open up.

Because killing someone off on a different series only works if A) the first show has been canceled (see The Lone Gunmen), or B) you're Warren Ellis and pulling a dick move with your Aliens/Wildcats crossover.

Also, I kinda like Gwen. Really.

It's actually getting to the point where I'm about to fire the Teaspoon and an Open Mind RSS feed from my reader for at least a month, just to give everyone a chance to simmer down. There's a fair amount of "so what happens to Donna anyway", and at least one I've read was pretty good (if tragic as hell). But the overwhelming deluge of Rose fic is ... special. Oh so special.

Gwen's great. Besides, the population of Welsh would protest if she were killed off. They'd have to move production back to London, which would cost so much more. ;)(A Welsh colleague of mine adores Gwen -- and is thrilled by the Welsh locations, the jobs to locals there etc. :)

Yes! Thank you. There was a lot that didn't quite make sense about the finale. While there were definitely parts I liked (Doctor!Donna was *brilliant*, as was the exchange between Sarah Jane and Davros) overall I was disappointed.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only Doctor/Rose shipper who *didn't* like the ending. It seemed like such a cop-out. "I'm too much of a coward to actually tell you I love you so here, have my replacement!" Talk about insulting. And Human!Doctor was really such a pale imitation. *sigh* I need a fixit for the fixit.

There's also a certain creepiness to it that's bothered me more and more as I've thought about it; just that whole "he's me, but not, and he has all my memories, and by the way, you'll need to rehabilitate him the way you did in my last regeneration". o_O

It has been pointed out, however, that no matter how one feels about the ending and about Doctor/Rose in general, it's probably very good for the series as a whole that this storyline is probably pretty much complete. Which gives Moffat a nice clean slate to start from, and I'm glad for that.

Yeah. I really don't think canon could ever resolve the Doctor and Rose to my satisfaction and I wish they hadn't tried. I'll just stick to my fanfic AUs :)
