Pop-Up Video" wasn't required to actually understand what's going on in the video. Girl crawling on car: everyone gets it. People spraying each other with mentos-filled diet soda bottles, not so much. ;)

The good news: VH1 Classic is showing Pop-Up Video now.

The bad news: They only seem to have found about 12 episodes, rather than the 100+ of the original run. Also, I don't know how common VH1C is on cable systems.

I know I need some footnotes for the Nickelback. No clue who some of those folks are.

Are the folks that look like just that...folk actually just that?

The "footnotes" on the BNL one are excellent if someone really wanted to explore Youtube insanity though.

It's at least Nickelback demonstrating a slight sense of humor. (If Chad Kroeger ever hopes to truly be this generation's Sammy Hagar, he's gonna have to embrace a sense of humor! Hagar did!)

Plus, again, Eliza Dushku. Freakin' hot.

"Rock Star" only requires one footnote, and that footnote is "Eliza Dushku is freakin' hot."

Does this mean Weird Al was the vanguard of a trend? If so, Go Al!

I think the first take of the Weird Al video is better:

Weird, I was thinking, "What was that VH1 show that had annotated videos?" and couldn't remember, then the very next item on my friends list (http://syndicated.livejournal.com/cuteoverload/849936.html) gave me the answer.

dude, I heard the Rock Star song, but I NEVER saw the video until now, and had no idea.

DUDE! Does Nickelback just know EVERYBODY? And was that Eliza Dushku???

So.........IS there footnotes to Rock Star, somewhere? God knows there's guides to White And Nerdy all over creation..........
