Heroes and other Amazon deals
Aug. 26th, 2008 08:58 amAmazon's Deal of the Day is Heroes, Season 1 for $29.99 (50% off). We've been rewatching this season, as we've been getting Elayna hooked on it, and it's still damned fine. Elayna has, incidentally, done a wonderful job of catching on to a bunch of the twists.
Amazon's Deal of the Week, btw, is Band of Brothers for $44.99 (44% off). No, we neither own this, nor have had any request from our daughter to watch it. But it's still a damned fine miniseries.
There's also a Buy One, Get One Free sale on a bunch of TV DVD sets, including Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, My Name is Earl, Stargate SG-1, The Girls Next Door, King of the Hill, and Remington Steele. A surprising number of these sets are already at 30-40% off before the freebie.
ETA: Note that
taraljc reports some craptastic glitches and customer service when trying to get Amazon to honor the BOGO sale above.
Finally, there's a Grab Bag Sale, with 60-80% off a bunch of items, including the original Twilight Zone, the 1990 Narnia series, assorted comedy specials (Ron White, Wanda Sykes, Pee-Wee Herman, Richard Lewis), the original Assault on Precinct 13, and assorted crappy movies like The Last Run, Final Contract, Death Train, and the classic Shakespeare tale A Midsummer's Night Rave. Most of the movies and comedy specials weigh in at $5.49 a pop.
