Andrea de Man, the program coordinator for Emory's English Department, died two weeks ago. Everything they say in the article is true; Andrea was one of the most caring, amazing administrators, both when I was a major in the department, and when I provided tech support for them. She knew every student in the program, and handled some extremely tough personalities gracefully. I can't imagine that department without her.
(ETA: Comments off because there's not really much to say here. I'm not the one in need of condolences; that'd be her family and the folks who were still working with her day-to-day.)
