1. The game opened up the plank option under strength, and I tried it. I so hate the trainer right now. I plan to cut off his virtual fucking ponytail (and yes, I know the game randomly cuts his hair anyway, but this is personal).

2. If I ever find myself trapped in a penguin suit, with no way to feed myself other than by tilting an ice floe so that I can flop on my belly and capture fish, I'll probably starve.

I am good at the penguin game. I SUCK at tightrope walking. :(

I find the male trainer better than the female one. She's kind of mean.

You will get better at the penguin balance game. Have you tried the soccer balance game??? I think it's more about seeing where the ball is going than working on balance.

I've gotten across the tightrope only twice. It's nerve-racking.

A bit off topic and probably a bit of a dumb question too. :P Is the Wii Fit a stand alone or do you need a Wii as well? I am leaning hard towards getting one and am hoping it's the former and not the latter. Thanks!

I've been collecting data points on who chooses male or female trainers...*takes notes*

The penguin game is surprisingly difficult!

You need a Wii--the Wii Fit package contains the "game" disc and the balance board.

Thanks!

Ouch. Best I've seen is $130 for the Fit. Was hoping that was my total expense. :P I don't suppose it's possible to get them as a bundle?

That's a lot more than the retail price, at least if you live in the US! It might be worth joining the forums at cheapassgamer.com -- they often post ads in advance, so you'll know which stores are going to have Wiis and Wii Fits in stock. That's how my clients got their Wii last month. :) (They were #80 in line at Target, which got in 83 Wiis...unfortunately, Target only got in 10 or so Wii Fits!)

Me? If I ever have to roll down the river in a giant bubble, I am dead dead dead. Apparently I can't ski worth a crap, either.

If you'd like another data point, I chose the male as well. :)

Well, I was vaguely wondering if it had any connection to gender and orientation, so that might be more info than you want to give me. ;)

(Among my Wii's users, we've got two guys and one woman who are all attracted to women [the woman is bisexual], and who all chose the female trainer. One more user is female and heterosexual and chose the male trainer. xD)

I was surprised the other day when the Wii forced me to use the other trainer for one session! It's a quirky little game.

I'll be skewing your data some more, then. I'm bi and still chose the male. ;)

Hahaha, OK. I suspect there's not much of a pattern, anyway. :P

*loff* You're making progress, if your relationship with your trainer has reached the hate stage.

It's really about watching the soccer ball and not freaking out 'cause of all the flying panda heads and shoes.

I've achieved a perfect score on both beginner and advanced levels in soccer heading. Haven't done as well with anything else, alas. At least not yet!

Try WiiAlerts.com. Wii Fit should run you $80. There are some bundles with Wiis and Wii Fits, though sometimes bundles come with lotsa extra stuff or are overpriced.

Yeah, see, I have a problem with keeping my eye on a moving target. I've only gotten as high as amateur level. I hope that the more I practice, the better I will get.
