Okay, they don't. But they make a good linkdump. I posted a few of these in Twitter over the past few days; apologies for the redundancy.

1. Here's a great interview with Tony Bourdain.

2. [livejournal.com profile] curt_holman has two good pieces at Creative Loafing. One is an article featuring John Scalzi and Cherie Priest. The other is about author blogs in general.

3. Ubiquity may be the niftiest Firefox extension/internet app I've seen in ages. Warning: It's an alpha release (so download it at your own risk).

4. Jimmy Rollins continues to be a whiny, poor sport. No amount of unearned MVP awards will change that.

5. The BBC has some nifty language sites (and unlike many Beeb online resources, they're available in the USA).

6. Red Dwarf! Woohoo!

7. There's a new Wild Cards RPG coming out!

7.5 There's also an RPG for the world of Jo Walton's Tooth and Claw (which I haven't read yet, but is sitting in my big pile of books from the library).

8. Vin Diesel says that there will be more Riddick! With, one hopes, more cowbell.

9. What if you took a poem and replaced every instance of the word "love" with "Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame Catcher Carlton Fisk?" Let's find out.

10. Finally, the LPGA can go fuck itself. Libba Galloway, in particular, should shut the fuck up or just come out and say, "look, I'm fucking intolerant and jingoistic and feel a China-in-the-Olympics need to rig things for my country."

Wow. what idiots. Lets exclude people b/c they speak a different language than their fans, thats obviously the best way to handle things, rather than you know, make the fans get educated in another language/culture

sometimes i don't believe the world we live in

When Orson Scott Card is done with Doc Brite's poison jackhammer, Libba Galloway gets a turn. She does not however, get to have it rinsed off.

Ooh, I liked the GURPS Wild Cards. I wish I had some people to do a campaign with, I'd give the new system a whirl.

It had stats for the one Shadow Fist Ace who only ever got mentioned and never showed up otherwise. Whisper? Rumor? Something like that...

That's fucking ridiculous and grossly unfair and ostracizing to the foreign players.

i really should listen to more mets fans in their hatred of jimmy rollins. not worth a round 2 pick at all. however, he did allow me to get Lincecum in trade, and Jhonny Peralta has been pretty good as a replacement, so i guess he's good for something.

that being said, in reference to the article, he's a freaking idiot. Wasn't he demeaning Philadelphia citizens last week for booing him when he sucks dogballs? Cant he just shut up for like 4 months?

New Wild Cards, as well as the CHAMPIONS ps238 book, a Mouse Guard RPG and board game, Dresden Files and I forget what else. Its been awhile since there have been this many gaming books I wanted. And of course I can't really afford any of them...
