The problem is that John Stewart's audience already knew that.

We get the Daily Show on the following evening, so we got that bit last night. I was eating at the time, which was almost fatal.

If those same two sets of clips were to be used on something like "Meet the Press" or such like and have the persons concerned explain themselves, it would be quite amusing.

Jon Stewart is a god, which is why I watch TDS religiously.

Seriously, why the hell doesn't the "real" media show this kind of thing???

I'm glad you asked.

Because exposing their cronies would diminish the political clout enjoyed by the owners of the "real" media.

The commercialization and consolidation of the huge multinational media conglomerates has essentially rendered journalistic integrity impossible. All you get nowadays is "news entertainment products" mathematically calculated and engineered to maximize the marketability of advertising.

Exceptions are non-profit sources, like NPR, and a (very) few state-run news agencies like BBC News.
