The end of something bad: WaMu. No, I'm not happy about it in terms of what it means for the economy. But I've never, ever dealt with a bank that loathed its customers and treated them like shit the way WaMu did (and this was a top-to-bottom thing; pretty much everyone above the teller level was an asshole). I'll be eating a piece of Schadenfreude Pie over this one.
The end of something good: Minx, the teen-girl-oriented line from DC, is ending as of January. Elayna's a huge fan of a bunch of books from this line (The Plain Janes, Clubbing, and I think Good As Lily, although I might be misremembering the last one). Granted, DC imprints fail all the time (Helix, Piranha, Paradox), and the best of these lines often find other homes (Transmet, Why I Hate Saturn, Understanding Comics), but I wish this one had really taken off.
