Boosting the signal from [livejournal.com profile] emilytheslayer.

Original post is here.

All the words below are hers:

As most of you know, a good friend of mine and a member of my Boston group of friends killed himself last Sunday night. This has been incredibly hard to deal with, but I'm starting to get to an ok place. I really want to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts, it's really meant a lot.

Now, all of you who've been asking if there's any way to help? There totally is. A group of us will be participating in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Out of the Darkness Walk on October 11 at Artesani Park in Brighton as Team Wyatt. If you can't donate, I totally understand and am certainly not going to hold it against anyone. If you want to donate and can, that would be amazing and fantastic and great.

So if you want to donate, please go to my donation page, or to the team's page to make a general donation. We're not competing with each other, so either is fine. If there's an interest, maybe I can work out something where I'll knit something for the highest donation, or do a drawing or something, I'll have to think about that.

Don't feel bad if you can't give a lot! I have 154 people who supposedly read this journal (a few less than that for the spam journals and people's alternate journals, so let's call it 150) if you want to just give me a dollar? Awesome. Whatever you feel comfortable with is still going to help, and will mean so much to me.

You're making light in the darkness -- that's pretty amazing.

Oh hey, thank you so much for this. We are actually changing the name of the team, but we don't know to what just yet. If you wouldn't mind editing the team name out, just so people won't get confused, that would be awesome.

Thank you so much, dear.
