Weird Al takes on the economy
Oct. 8th, 2008 10:37 amWeird Al has a new single available on iTunes, a parody of TI's "Whatever You Like" called (go figure) "Whatever You Like."
The clip on iTunes was unimpressive (it's out of context, and missed the point of the song, frankly), but the full song is actually pretty good.
As always, the song is incredibly sharp as a parody, hitting the beats and matching lyrics perfectly.

Date: 2008-10-08 03:59 pm (UTC)That's actually the first time Al's done a parody (one commercially available, at least) where he used the same title as the original song. I remember when I heard Michael Bolton's "Said I Loved You But I Lied" and thought He's writing titles that Weird Al wouldn't even need to change when he writes his parodies of them! "Said I loved you but I lied...even though it means I'll get slapped up-side..." Same, maybe, with "Can I Touch You There?" (Oh dear, that parody could be R-rated; Al doesn't do that...)
Thank you for an excuse to ramble about Al.
