Just got our benefits info for next year. We're on the cheapest of the three plans, and our rates are going up $27 a month (plus another $1 a month for dental).

I can't even imagine being the folks on the more expensive plans (which are going up $35 and $64 a months).

Blah, insurance is so expensive. Ours went up about $30 a week this year.

I've got two more weeks before I have to face the bad news about benefits. I'm already living paycheck to paycheck, this is going to hurt.

This year my insurance went up by $212 a month - after going up $125 a month last year. And that's with my employer paying 95% of my premium (so I'm paying 5% of mine and 100% for my husband and kids)

And that's the cheap plan with a high deductible - so basically I'm paying like $600 a month in case anyone gets hospitalized. :(

Strangely I've been told that my benefit rates are not going up.

So, I'm waiting for that first check next month to be light 10-50 bucks, once they figure out the real plan.

My parents Health Net plan which is what they pay of of pocket to supplement their Medicare went from 119 a month per person to 179.00 a month per person. Oh and they also threw in increases in all co-pays!

Really nice. The only thing that sucks more is McCain's "plan".

That's awful. We switched administrators, so my plan went down this year, but I shudder to think what it will be like next year.

(The first time I scanned that, the font make the 27 and "a" run together so I read it as $274/mo.... I was really worried for you.)

I just got forcibly switched from a 'good' plan with lots of coverage and small co-pay to a very mediocre plan.

I think, considering my med expenses, I may be screwed.

Health care cost stink nowadays

Earlier this year we switched from my health plan to Hu's because my employer dropped the Network plan it had always offered (and most employees were on) and changed the PPO plan to a High Deductible PPO. They justified this by changing the PPO's monthly premium to the slightly cheaper network costs. Now it looks like their going to raise the HDPPO premiums to the old PPO rates. So, beyond the fact that I would not have been able to afford my medication/doctors visits/labs, I'm really glad I switched knowing now that they were less than up front about the rates chaning in six months time- even though my OLD plan was way cheaper when it comes to my MRIs (me- sulking about the several hundred dollars I have to fork out next week... no...).
