Nov. 13th, 2008 09:02 am1. Next year's Cure Tribute Album includes Tanya Donelly and Dylan in the Movies covering "The Lovecats." And if you search, you can find an MP3 of it.
2. The latest issue of Spin has a good (but way too short) Oral History of Black Rock (which is really a history of '80s black rock).
3. Ridley Scott has confirmed that he's directing the Monopoly movie. Because on Park Place, no one can hear you scream!
4. Camille Paglia on how she chose poems for Break, Blow, Burn. I still have some fundamental problems with both her process and her selections, but this does provide some nice insight.
5. Cory Doctorow on Copyfighting. Nothing to disagree with in this one.
6. The New Yorker writes on sex amongst evangelical teens.
7. HBO has approved a pilot for A Game of Thrones.
8. MadTV has been canceled.
9. Also, Wizkids is no more. And I still haven't bought a copy of Tsuro, dammit. Hope there are still some around when I've got post-holiday money, or that someone else buys the rights.
10. Finally, because people have way too much time on their hands, Cursebird is a real-time feed of Twitter posts containing cursewords. It's like an ongoing transcript of Kevin Smith's id.
