So, everyone seems all excited about the fact that Obama collects Spider-Man comics, but no one seems willing to actually dive into what this means.

Look: Spider-Man has had his ups and downs as a character. Being a fan of, say, the classic Lee/Thomas/Conway years says one thing about Obama. Loving, say, the Terry Kavanagh Clone Saga, or the Howard Mackie Sucktastic Saga of Sucky Storylines What Suck run, on the other hand, would say horrific things about what he might do as commander-in-chief.

And don't even get me started on what it would mean to have a president who loves One More Day.

This is important information to know. Someone needs to find this stuff out.

I've long believed that Obama looks as if he were drawn by Ditko.

You only say that because you agree.

Ultimate Spidey's Clone Saga kicks 616's Clone Saga back to Marvel 1602.

Its almost as important as finding out if he and his family are getting an actual shelter dog or will be going to one of those hoity-toity specialty breed rescue places. Cause you know, I don't want that kind of elitism in the White House.

I'm not trying to figure out the different artists so much as I'm working on the psychology of digging Spiderman vs., say, Batman or Superman.

I think it says something about the man...I'm just not sure what yet.

I'm actually more concerned that he collects the Conan comics. They rebooted off of "The Frost Giant's Daughter" for Crom's sake. Mind you, if he's a more general Robert Howard fan, I might be able to forgive him.

However, if he says that he's ok with Brand New Day, I'm voting Libertarian next time. I've got to draw the line somewhere.
