Oy.

That's just awful. I hate crowds, so I wouldn't dream of hitting the Black Friday sales, but even at their worst, the crowds shouldn't get like this.

>_<

I hate the holiday crowds on the best of days. I have no desire to brave the Black Friday sales. I know people get hurt when these "shoppers" stampede but to kill somebody? Yeah. I don't regret staying home and vegetating for the day. I'm far safer being online then out there.

Fuckwits.

I thought that a car getting stolen out of our Wal mart parking lot this morning was the worst thing that could happen there today. Jesus.

I poked my head in Wal mart this morning. Seeing 500 people in line and 90% had TV's was enough to send me over to Babies R Us for 10.00 a case diapers!

I've been predicting Black Friday deaths for a few years, but I really expected it to be a shooting in one of those god awful lines at 3 AM in the morning when someone, say, tried to cut in with a friend.

Just sick.

And if you notice, under "Related News," there's a headline that reads, "Retailers optimistic about Black Friday."

I guess after this, they'd have to be.

Just another reason I'm glad I live where I do. Around here, if someone got hurt you might have a few people go by, but you'd be more likely to have a crowd trying to help blocking the doors. Of course, half of those would be semi-concerned onlookers, but trampling? Not here. Not like that.

You're prediction wasn't too far off. (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/11/28/state/n123739S87.DTL&tsp=1)

It's not even like Walmart couldn't have done something sane like, oh, numbered wristbands instead of setting themselves up for a stampede. Sheesh.
