Yeah, it's a joke from The Onion. But that's only because American (the airline with more contempt for their passengers than any airline I've ever flown) hasn't found a way to get away with this one yet.
I have nothing but contempt for most of the 'State-side airlines. Southwest being the major exception.
Seriously... charging for luggage? No meals? Foreign airlines still bend over backwards for their customers. You'd think that the country that practically invented the modern culture of service would be a little kinder.
