Just call me Twitchy.
Dec. 3rd, 2008 12:03 pmNo, not the guy behind the cut tag. Me. My left eye has been twitching for the last few days. It could be stress-driven (especially since we're traveling tomorrow), but since that's never happened before, I suspect it's something else. Fortunately, the potential causes range from minor things (like lack of sleep or staring a monitor for too long) to fun things like neurological disorders. I figure I'll see how things look next week before I freak out.
In the meantime, if you think I'm winking at you like a hyperactive Sarah Palin at a nationally-televised debate, I'm not, gosh-darn it.

It's probably stress-related.

Date: 2008-12-04 04:35 am (UTC)What *did* help was that I started taking magnesium chloride supplements once per day. It can be easily found in drug stores under the brand name "Slow Mag". Regular magnesium supplements also helped, but not quite as completely as magnesium chloride.
Eye twitching can also be caused by a calcium deficiency, but since folks are usually pretty aware of their calcium intake these days, magnesium chloride deficiency is more often the culprit. Zinc and potassium are also key ions in proper muscle operation, so they're also possibilities.
