Electronic Gaming Monthly has been canceled. I can't imagine that their insistance on sending two copies of every issue to me could have helped, but I'd like to think I'm not single-handedly responsible.

Every bookstore and library I have worked at that had subscriptions to EGM regularly got 3-4 copies of each issue!

(Well, 3-4 more than needed, I should say - obviously bookstores should get more than 1 copy!)

Wow. I used to read it back in the 8-bit era, and I remember marveling at the shiny new graphics of the new systems, like the Super Nintendo.

I remember having a subscription back when I had an Atari 2600 (before it was called a 2600 . . . yes I am an old gamer geek)

Alas, poor EGM. I knew him, Mario.

Color me not surprised. I've bought about 3 issues in the last year, each because a cover blurb caught my eye. Only to lead to much frustration when I find out that the article that caused me to buy the mag was no longer than a page. And in some instances, no longer than a paragraph or sentence that just restated what was said on the cover before moving on to other topics.
