Wow. I finally found a Japanese food I can't stand. Jos%). and I went to Sushi Avenue for lunch, and had a damned good meal. But, just for the hell of it, I decided to order a Natto roll. Natto, for those lucky enough not to know, is a bean substance that has been fermented in a hay bacteria. It is sticky, smelly, and quite possibly sentient and evil. Ick.

On the plus side, I hade some damned fine Anago and Unagi, as well as wasabi nobiko. And they still make the best miso soup in Atlanta, imho.

So, tonight we're packing for MegaCon. We're driving down tomorrow, doing it road-trip style, with Mousie driving, after Elayna gets out of school. Should be a fun con -- Mousie and 'song are planning on showing their comic to the folks at Oni, as well as to Kevin Smith (the GoH), and some other folks. Keep your virtual fingers crossed for them. MegaCon is always a well-run con, with a well-organized, large dealer's room with lots of room between aisles (are you listening, DragonCon?). Our only slight concern is that 'song's psycho ex-husband will be there. If it weren't for the fact that I'm skeptic, and that he's driving up with some friends, I'd say he deserves to have his car break down on the trip. On the plus side, I'm pretty sure he's too passive aggressive to do anything serious in such a public venue.

Am planning on trying to limit our spending to as little as possible, which probably means a few hundred bucks. Which is why it'll be good to have 'song with me, so she can remind me that we need money for things other than comics and other sci-fi and fantasy things. Not sure what those would be (other than DVDs, of course), but I'm pretty sure there are other expenses. :-)
