So, [livejournal.com profile] dlscanlon was over here last night, and all the three of us did was play CDs for each other and talk the night away, as well as visit Bruster's, of course). And after she introduced us to Tanglefoot (who are amazing), and we played Great Big Sea and the Prodigals for her, and she brought samples of the new Chet Williamson-fronted version of Fire in the Glen, we were chatting, and it became clear that she'd never heard Boiled in Lead!

I was shocked. Appalled.

So we got out Antler Dance, and corrected that mistake.

Anyway, Donna's now gone. Not back up north, but she has ALA obligations tonight. We miss her already -- both [livejournal.com profile] shadesong and I agree that she's just as amazing in person as online (and that says a lot). And we all agreed that future visits are necessary.

Feh. Much as I love finally getting to meet a dear friend in person, it sucks when they have to leave.

There was much hugging and kissing and gnashing of teeth and shouts of, "don't go" in the train station last night.

And now we have to deal with work, on way too little sleep. :-)

Forgot to mention, at Bruster's last night, I had the Peanut Butter and Jelly ice cream. Vanilla ice cream with huge glops of peanut butter, and strawberry jelly throughout it. It was fucking amazing.

Donna had the Gone Bananas -- banana ice cream with fudge and almonds. She was amazed at how much it tasted like real bananas. [livejournal.com profile] shadesong had
Chocolate Oreo.

And the night before, I had Cotton Candy Explosion. Cotton candy flavored ice-cream (bright pink) with pop rocks embedded in it.

We also ran in Alan and Carole and two of their friends there, and Alan had gotten the banana split. But since they were out of bananas, he got it for free. And the thing was the size of my head. Must have been a pint of ice cream in it.

Have I mentioned that I love this place?

Really, it does. Ate at Asian Square, and had a damned fine (and damned cheap) meal. I can face the world again.

Two links, no relation:

FIrst, according to this link, Circuit City is getting rid of VHS tapes. About damned time. But I'll still never forgive them for their years of divx whoring.

And I came across this link while looking through some PVP stuff. A few good points about kids ang gaming, though nothing we all didn't know already.
