Brotherhood of the Wolf, finally!

Chud is reporting that Brotherhood of the Wolf will actually make it to DVD this year (not until October). Not a fancy three-disk set, alas (damn you Europeans!), but at least I can own it.

Trailers

At the screening last night, we got the first trailers for Solaris and Daredevil. The former was just a teaser trailer, but Soderbergh/Clooney is as sure a bet as anything on screen. But Daredevil looked surprisingly good. Much better than I expected. I may actually see it.

Jack Buck, R.I.P.

Just saw the blurb on ESPN.com. One of the greatest baseball announcers of all time has passed away. Buck was just phenomenal, and had a grasp of the game that few have even come close to. Not to mention a great baseball voice.

dlscanlon made it home safely! Last we heard, her luggage hadn't arrived yet (though if it's anything like Rincewind's luggage, it'll follow shortly), but at least she's safe and sound!

It's a medium-length quiz designed to test your political range on a four-way (instead of the traditional two-way) graph, taking into account the fact that, for example, Stalin and Ghandi were both economic liberals, but were nothing like each other. I wasn't too surprised at where I ended up:

Economic Left/Right: -4.00
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -6.36

Basically, this places me solidly in the Libertarian Left column (kept in check by my utter disdain for corporate "rights").

When I went to the "suggested reading" list for my quadrant, I wasn't surprised to find that I'd read the first three (No Logo, Fast Food Nation, and Thomas Paine), and have looked at most of the rest at times.
