So, last night. After getting home, Elayna didn't want to go to karate. Since [livejournal.com profile] shadesong needed an hour to do some writing, the grandparents, Elayna, and I went to Johnny's and Bruster's for Pizza and ice cream, respectively. After getting back, we kissed Elayna good night, and the grandparents and I went to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding ([livejournal.com profile] shadesong had already seen it). It was damned funny. Although the entire point of the movie seemed to be that "Greeks are every bit as fucked up as Jews and Italians." But it was still damned funny.

Got home right before Elayna's bedtime. [livejournal.com profile] shadesong went to bed two minutes later. I followed by a bit over an hour, after reading some more Starman.

It's weird. Thanks to last night, I will, in all probability, have spent more time with the grandparents than [livejournal.com profile] shadesong during this week. Not quite sure how I feel about that.

Anyway, today, we're heading to Briar Vista for registration in the morning, and I've got a training class to run at 1 at Emory, so don't expect to see me online much today.

After work, we're all heading out to buy clothes for Elayna, which she probably doesn't need, but it'll be fun, anyway.

No major updates on the depression front -- it's pretty much the same as before, but spending time with Elayna keeps it away temporarily, at least. She's busy playing tangram games on her computer.

I went to the Plan9 web page today for the first time in ages, and it looks like they'll be bringing back the Robotman strips back into print! Back before it became Monty and started sucking major ass (and not in a good way).

The only Robotman books I have are CyberpunkTrek and Primary Crullers, so I'd love to see more of the older strips. Yay for Plan9 for bringing back an old dead tree strip! Maybe they can work on Thatch next.

So, no time for a real update. But here's the quick and dirty of the day so far:

Registration went well. Got Elayna taken care of, no problems. There's a dress code, which is bullshit, but it won't be enforced until January, and I hope enough angry letters will have been written by then to get rid of it (second graders do not need to be told that jeans are banned, and fuck any superintendant wasting time telling them otherwise). [livejournal.com profile] shadesong already has a ton of folks signed up for the Girl Scouts, and it was nice to see some of the other parents again.

Lunch was at Bagel Palace, which is always good. Had a veggie omelet and hash browns.

The LL class for the librarians went well, although a crisis at the circulation desk took three members out of the class. But I think it was a good class nonetheless.

The guitar came! I had it routed to the office, since they required a signature. Haven't opened it yet, and won't until tonight.

In a few minutes, I'm heading over to [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's office, where her grandparents will pick us up, and we'll go clothes shopping for Miss Kid, followed by dinner at the gourmet California Pizza Kitchen (mmm, blt pizza).

Off to finish up here, then head on out.
