So, after spending the morning attempting to clean the house (and worse, attempting to get Elayna to clean her room), we went to pick up [livejournal.com profile] gwynraven so we could help her get her not-as-broke-as-it-was car (which will now get her back to SC, but will probably die again). After many road adventures involving Mapquest sucking donkey balls, we found the garage, and we traveled via both cars back to our place. I then fed [livejournal.com profile] shadesong and [livejournal.com profile] gwynraven leftovers (including the last of the carrots and sweet potatoes -- *sob*), and we hung around for a bit. Gwyn then went off to investigate Book Nook, and then prepare for the Holly Cole concert (I'm jealous -- I love Holly, but didn't realize she was in town today). Gwyn has promised to post when she makes it back to SC safely tomorrow, as we all have this dreadful fear of a Radiator Tragedy striking again.

At Sundown, we had Hanukkah day 2. Elayna got Chinese Checkers and two Powerpuff Gameboy games from us, and a Lizze McGuire book from her grandparents. [livejournal.com profile] shadesong opened the cat magnets that Elayna got her, and I opened my DVD of Jason X from [livejournal.com profile] shadesong. Shortly thereafter, it was time for me to head over to [livejournal.com profile] voltbang's for a game of Bloodbowl, and [livejournal.com profile] blueingenue was nice enough to give me a ride over there. After getting Maddie to bed, we continued our game from before. My Decatur Stars managed to pull off the 2-0 victory, with each of my bull centaurs scoring a touchdown. My record has now been evened at 1-1 (with my game with [livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe still at the halfway point).

[livejournal.com profile] rloveking gave me a ride home, and I then proceeded to natter around the house accomplishing nothing for hours, watching my new DVD (mmm, Lisa Ryder), a couple of Andromeda reruns on Tivo (mmm, Lisa Ryder again), reading EW and some of the new Wild Cards book, etc. I also watched Max the moronic cat fight with a piece of Lego Elayna had left on the floor. And lose. Stupid cat.

Ok, not the world's most exciting entry. But it's 3:30 AM. If the nouns and verbs line up, I figure that's a win. I've actually mostly caught up on LJ (minus the large chunks of time I'm just writing off), and will start on email tomorrow.

And now, I must hit the sack.

So. the ballot for next year's Hall of Fame inductions has been released. Not that I'm allowed to vote, but I'm sure as hell opinionated about it. And since I should be getting to sleep, I figure I'll ramble now, so even folks who understand baseball will be baffled.

warning: Baseball nattering ahead )

Elayna (finding me in a different room than she expected): Where were you?

Me: Right here. Where's your desk?

Elayna: Adam, you know where my desk is.

Me: I'm not sure. I couldn't see it under all the stuff on it.

Kids are great. They walk into all the setup lines.

People trust me.

They must.

I mean, why would I get so many emails from young women telling me that they just turned eighteen, or from housewives telling me that they're bored? Let alone the nice college girls who email me to tell me that their webcams are back online.

I'm just one of those people that folks like to talk to.

It makes me feel so special.
