So, having the house effectively to myself last night ([livejournal.com profile] shadesong was at a slumber party and Elayna was asleep, of course), I figured I'd catch up on some comics reading (including four Spidey books, of which JMS's came precariously close to being the worst -- anyone know if he's letting that horrid Fiona Avery ghostwrite for him?), and some Tivo. Of course, the only show on Tivo that wasn't one of [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's as well (and thus was somehting I could delete after watching it) was the French and Saunders LotR parody special, recorded on Thursday night. I selected it, and was greeted with the most horrifying sounds imaginable -- the strains of the Rembrandts, singing "I'll be there for you." The Tivo recorded Friends instead of French and Saunders. I am so fucking pissed.

As for the comics, the latest Westfield packet contained, aside from the Spidey books (and Peter Parker #50 may well be the best Spidey book in ages, btw), an issue of Shanda the Panda dated "August," as well as the long-awaited Leave it to Chance #13, dated "July." Folks, this is why Marvel doesn't bother putting dates on the covers of its books anymore. Both were damned good, however.

Anyway, I slept ten hours last night. Felt damned good. Accomplished nothing else, including the writing I'd been planning. But sometime, just having a night of nothing can be enjoyable.

I want to come of with a manga anthology for the mentally challenged. It's a niche market, but manga's gone after every other niche, already. And there's already a perfect title:

Shonen Gump

The money should just pour in now.

Well, for the SECOND FUCKING TIME THIS SEASON I have to deal with missing the final twenty minutes of an episode of Futurama because some decided to flip channels while Tivo was recording it. Does anyone have tonight's episode in any format I can borrow (including online-digital - I just want to be able to watch it, regardless of quality)?

The first ten minutes were damned funny. Any show that slips "St. Pauli Exclusion Principle Girl" should not have been cancelled. Damned Fox execs.
