So, why am I awake at 1:30 in the morning?

Because the re-broadcast of the season finale of the Sopranos was at midnight. and it was 90 minutes long. And I stayed up to watch it, instead of letting Tivo do its job.

Yes, I'm probably fucking insane. But at least I know what happened.

Now when the fuck do I get my fifth season?

As for the day itself, Elayna and I went to the Thrashers game, along with [livejournal.com profile] rloveking, [livejournal.com profile] voltbang, their lj-less Maddie, their lj-less (I think) friend Troy and his girfriend, and [livejournal.com profile] blueingenue.

The game was great, as long as you ignore anything the Thrashers did. Frankly, the only time the players seemed to give a shit was when there was a fight. If they hit the puck half as hard as they hit the other players, they might have scored. It's not like the Oilers did anything impressive. They won by inertia.

On the plus side, at least the Jets pulled off the victory over the Broncos. Slim playoff hopes remain alive!

Anyway, I should go to bed now. But I'm not tired yet, so I'll read a bit. Man, I'll hate myself tomorrow.

'cuz you know that has to be the original version of the song.

Anyway, between attempting to flit back and forth between waking [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, getting Elayna off the potty and into clothes, and packing lunches/snacks/lunch money, drinking coffee almost fell by the wayside. But I managed to get a cup in me, at least (necessary, as three hours of sleep is painful, even for me). Got Elayna out the door barely on time, and had a whopping two minutes of quality time with her at the bus stop to talk about things like why she shouldn't move to Australia just because her schmucky boyfriend wants to. Which is okay (the lack of quality time, not the moving to Australia for some creep), since we got lots of time in yesterday. But I still like getting what time I can with her (although the walk to the bus stop tends to be higher quality than the time at the stop itself, anyway, as there's another kid there usually).

Anyway, not much other news to report. I mean, I went to sleep at 2:30. Not much can happen in that much time. I've got an overflowing inbox, and lots of LJ reading to do when I get to work. One of these days, I may even make a real, thought-provoking post. In the meantime, props to Gwynraven for being the only one to acknowledge the "Shonen Gump" pun that I spent days, nay weeks*, working on.

Off to work.

We finally watched last weekend's X-Men:Evolution last night. And they got the original team back together! Iceman, Angel, Beast, Jean, and Cyke, (with Prof X, too)!

Anyone who's watched this show (which is my favorite take on the mutants in a long time) should realize how tricky this is. Only Cyke and Jean are regular field members. Iceman has been one of the younger students at the school, Beast is a teacher, and Angel has only appeared once before. But they managed to get them all together for a mission. Better yet, it's a part of a plotline that's leading up the the unleashing of Apocolypse, damned appropriate, since he was originally introduced back in the pages of an X-Factor team that was manned by the original five.

I was really happy. :-)
