Dear BBC America:

I just watched the first episode of Series 2 (or, as we say on this side of the Pond, Season 2) of Manchild. And I'm a tad confused. Not by any of the content, as the show continues to be hysterical, and perfectly acted. But by your choices of what we could be exposed to.

So, we're allowed to hear Gary threaten to "beat the shit" out of Patrick. We're allowed to see Terry's girlfriend's breasts (or at least her hypothetical post-surgery ones). But whenever a character says, "fuck," you feel the need to mute the show.

Why I love Professor Newby

One of my favorite professors here is Gordon Newby (who, in spite of his name, has no problems with tech things or forums). In a recent email about some work-related stuff, he signed off

Hope you are well and I hope that the "Passover Possum" brings you all the goodies you are asking for.


To which I replied,

Passover Possum? Does he battle the Easter Bunny on PPV?


His response:

Having already done in Mothra and King Ghidora, the Passover Possum seeks to make the initials PPV stand for Passover Possum Victorious!

All professors should have this attitude. And he's multiple-time department chair, not a new instructor.
