A discussion with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong about unbelievable movie families, which led to my remembering Joan Jett and Michael J. Fox as siblings. *shudder* Which led to my wanting to ask folks what the best song from a Michael J. Fox movie was. So tell me:

Saturday: Thanks to driving assistance from [livejournal.com profile] magenta_girl, [livejournal.com profile] shadesong and I made it to Rich's-Macy's to complete our wedding registry. Yay! We also headed to Maggiano's for lunch, where we encountered the worst waiter ever (although the gnocchi in vodka sauce remains delightful). The guy was rude, inattentive, and fucked up the check (he was unapologetic, too). We made up for it by heading to B&N afterwards, where we found an imported Robert Rankin book, as well as other stuff we "needed."

Sunday: July 4 is Shadesong's and my anniversary (well, until this October, at which point I guess we have to use the wedding date as an anniversary). So we headed to Northlake, where Crescent Moon has opened their second location! We ate well, as always. Their griddle grits -- cheese grits mixed with onions and other spices and then baked on the griddle -- are to die for.

We then headed to Target and Best Buy, where we purchased household necessities and anniversary presents, respectively. The former included Tupperware, grilling stuff, and sugar, but we somehow managed to put back the Shrek 2 Deluxe Micro Ogre Playset: Far Far Away Castle (which looked amazing, but after seeing the reviews, I'm glad we decided it wasn't a necessity). The latter included finally getting Invader Zim, Reservoir Dogs, and other essentials. The rest of the day was spent prepping for the party.

Monday: Our housewarming party. It went damned well. I'm still full. Lots of good people and good food. Saw some folks I hadn't seen in a year (or two, even), met some new folks, had fun, never really had my social anxiety kick in fully. Not a bad day at all.

Today: Work. Bleah.

10-disc Matrix box set announced.

They've added 55 minutes of footage to the second movie. And you know what? That freeway fight still blows. But you get more time before you have to suffer through it.
