Tuesday stuff

I get to teach a class this afternoon because two other people messed up their schedules. Grr. I'm so tempted to walk in and say, "I'm not even supposed to be here today."

No hot water last night, as the gas folks had futzed with the water heater. Upon them fixing it, it turns out that there's a small leaky valve (not anything that poses an immediate threat, but still something that needs replacing).

KoL update: Working on getting the appropriate sets of clothing on the Island. Have gotten the clothing needed for the mountaintop, although none of the drops there have done me a lot of good. I've now made back the money I invested in my store and then some (thanks to papaya sales), and I'm working on the Feng Shui quest. Quick question for the experts -- what's so special about the herb brownies I just made? According to the marketplace report at coldfront, they're going for over 3000 meat.

We got our massive gift-certificate-funded package from Amazon yesterday. I now own Wonderfalls and the DC Comics Encyclopedia, amongst other things. The latter has a few flaws in terms of missing folks, but is still a joy to browse through. Truly a beautiful volume. And Wonderfalls is Wonderfalls. :-)

Some good and mixed news on the work front that I'm hoping I'll be able to talk about soon. More on that when the news finally hits.

Celebrating the holidays

In honor of Fat Tuesday, I'm fat today. If someone ever comes up with "Skinny Other 364 Days of the Year," I'm so set.

nihilstic_kid mentions a movement to celebrate Ash Wednesday tomorrow by watching all three Evil Dead movies. All things considered, that's a much better idea than reading Quesada and Palmiotti's comic book Ash, which truly blew.

Lost DVD!

The latest issue of TV Guide reports that it's due in September, and will include lost scenes, some documentary stuff (including a breakdown of the fx involved in the polar bear scene early on), and a movie that finally shows the plane crash itself!
