Nifty things about yesterday
Dec. 29th, 2005 09:10 am1. I received two more anniversary presents from
docorion -- the new Director's Cut of The Warriors, and the newer Sin City, Recut, Extended, Unrated Edition. Woohoo! Wanna guess what I'll be watching this weekend?
1.5 Yes, it took Amazon two weeks (from the release date of the latter) to finally send the stuff. I actually assumed they were $Winterholiday gifts until I saw the packing slip.
1.75 Amazon also sent me an email saying that they'd shipped my copy of Usagi Yojimbo: Travels with Jotaro, which I ordered on November 5. Sounds like they've got supply-line issues.
2.
shadesong and I had been planning on seeing King Kong last night, but we realized that we both thought the other wanted to see it desperately (which I did, back when I thought it wouldn't be three hours long). So we grabbed dinner at Maggiano's instead, followed by a trip to Target (like Solomon Grundy, I needed pants), and to Borders.
2.5 At Borders, we ran into
ashlupa! We chatted and geeked out about all the usual stuff (books, iPods, etc). 'twas quite a lovely surprise.
2.75 Borders had already started their 50% off sale on calendars (woohoo!), so we grabbed Elayna her final Hanukkah present: The Fruits Basket 2006 Calendar.
2.87 Borders was also printing coupons at the register when you buy just about anything (including a cup of coffee at the cafe) for 30% off any one item starting January 5. So if you're in the mood for a cup of coffee soon, you can get a nice bonus.
3. For those who don't tend to read my posts in the late afternoon, I was rather posty late yesterday with three links to flash animations and one Amazon anime sale that are worth checking out.
4. Boomerang is showing commercial-free (well, there are two ten-second Boomerang promos, but nothing else) episodes of Batman: TAS and Superman: TAS.
5. A damned fine reason to buy Serenity: you can see
dark_blade in the extras!
6. The last two aren't really about yesterday. But they're still nifty. Deal with it.
