Next year in Jerusalem
Mar. 17th, 2008 10:43 amOr anywhere else, actually. Just no more slumber parties here.
Seven girls, ranging from 10-14, If they slept, it was after 2:30 in the morning, and before 8. If they were quiet, it was never for more than about ten minutes, as far as I can tell. I was less bothered by the noise than by the need to deliberately do my best to not hear the snippets of conversation that drifted upstairs (which, thankfully, tended mostly towards sex and relationships* as opposed to drugs, petty crime, or something truly horrible like World of Warcraft**).
The LARP itself, of course, was wonderful, and the girls all had a blast. We had way more food than we needed, and the house was only a moderate site of chaos in the morning (which probably speaks to the standards I applied as much as anything else).
The girls had a blast. We gave out copies of the movie Clue as party favors, which I believe were well-appreciated.
Elayna is now officially a teenager. Loot received from her friends included some amazing hand-designed cards, assorted giftcards (Borders and Gaia Online -- yes, she's a teen), jewelry, and a hedgehog (stuffed).
Me, I'm fucking exhausted.
*Mostly speculative discussions, which is even better.
**A drug habit, after all, can be kicked.

I'm now at 1003 drunkeness! Woohoo!
