Talentless comic-book writer Marc Guggenheim* -- who was brought in after the pilot was filmed because the network didn't have faith in Goyer -- has been let go, leaving Goyer as the sole showrunner. Of course, this won't have an impact on what we see until after January, but it gives me some hope.

*His run on the Bart Allen version of The Flash may actually rank as the worst comic-book storytelling of the decade, and this is a decade that includes multiple works by Frank Miller, as well as the entire DC and Marvel universes over the last four years.

The good folks at Vulture have provided a handy guide for squeamish people watching Antichrist -- the latest from Danish avant-garde psychopathic director Lars Von Trier.

I should note that the definition of "squeamish people," in this case, likely includes almost every human being alive, including folks who have watched all of Peter Jackson's early movies while eating porridge, and those who masturbated to Warren Ellis's Strange Kisses.

Since I've only caught a handful of reruns, I have to know:

Do the kids ever say, "dad, why do we need to know so much about sex lives of you, Aunt Robin, Aunt Lily, Uncle Barney, and Uncle Marshall?"

I mean, it just seems like the end result of the show is that they end up in therapy.

ETA: Also, having just rewatched the pilot, I'm not in the least bit surprised that I didn't end up sticking with the show. And even in later episodes, the laugh track insultingly undercuts so much of the actual humor. Frustrating, when the writing and acting are so often so sharp.
