A-Rod deserves the wrath of all of baseball (and of Khan) if he really cheated and gave up signs to other players in return for being tipped off himself.

But why the hell is no one calling for the heads (or at least the identities) of his fellow middle-infielders with whom he conspired? It takes two to cheat this way.

It probably won't take much to work out who's guilty; they had to be AL middle-infielders during his time with the Rangers, likely starters. There's a short list of suspects, and folks with the patience to look through game tapes of blowouts can probably spot the culprits.

Hating no name players doesn't drive up readership. Also, for a long time A-Rod was touted as the best chance for a "clean" player to break Hank Aaron's record. Now all the acrimony is focused on A-Rod, fair or not.

And yes, in baseball, cheating the game is the worst sin of all.

I'm beginning to think that A-Rod is one of those all brawn no brains guys who rambles on in his own little reality that deviates far from the reality of the majority.
He reminds me of Mike Tyson.
Handled well for awhile by one or two people, but then too many handlers with conflicting agendas and boom, he's done.

And what's with those Mets killing my Phillies at home????

Because in the world of sports "journalism," certain players are Designated Villains and are the Bad Guys and are the only ones who do wrong. That's why Barry Bonds is hated and despised and Mike Cameron -- who actually, y'know, failed a steroids test and got suspended for it -- is generally considered a good guy and a nice comeback story and all that other bullshit.

If A-Rod had a friendly relationship with the media, or at least a less bizarre one, this would be less of a story. One of the reasons for Bonds being the target of such ire is because he's always been rude to the press.

So yeah, A-Rod is the only bad guy here, even though the very thing he's being accused of is something that takes two to tango.

i suppose you could maybe even narrow it down to AL west MI (as he would probably see them around the most, more games with them and all)

i'd also think some of them came from seattle, where he started his career and presumably would be decent friends with those guys.

and why not make yet another assumption of either older players or younger ones, because why are guys in the prime of their careers going to help young upstart alex rodriguez to improve his average? you gotta look at either the rookies or the old guys, the 35 year olds who had just started taking the roids.

and it could have been catchers too, maybe? just spitballing.
