I subscribe to most of Amazon's newsletters in areas I care about (the MP3 one provides me with most of the MP3 freebies and deals I post, for example, and the full slate of newsletters covers just about everything). I also browse pretty heavily (sales are often posted on section front pages before announcements are made, and some price drops are just ones I stumble across).
