The credit sequence to True Blood was perfect in the first season. Why the hell did you have to fuck it up?

Also, giving Joe Buck a show? Seriously, what the hell? Was Joe Morgan unavailable?

ETA: here's the link. The Facebook True Blood Official Page is the only place I can find it so far.

Wow. That new opening totally sucks the flavor out of the show. I mean, the old credit sequence was half the reason I started watching the show! I checked it out because I like vampires, and by the time the credits stopped I was like, "Dude, this is awesome!" I introduced other people to it by saying, "Check out tha title sequence!"

The new sequence makes me think it's about futuristic goths on a holodeck.

It looks like every other show intro now. Boring.

I was thinking I might start watching this show this season, because a favorite actor of mine from 'Eureka', Ed Quinn, is supposed to have a recurring part. The opening sequence doesn't sell me at all, and is actually rather a turn-off for this potential new viewer....still haven't decided.

Flag on the field for egregious punning.

*sigh* Thank you, HBO, for fixing that which was NOT broken.

I really hope this isn't for real.

Is he? I keep debating wanting to watch Harper's Island. Part of me is intrigued and part of me is like "eh..." but that might tempt me into trying an episode or two from OnDemand, hmm...

(And, yes, I concur with the general sentiment...the new intro sucks, I missed the song from the opening, and I don't feel like this was necessary at all, even having read the second book...I see no reason or logic behind this opening. I hope it's just a publicity stunt or something...)

I figured. The unintentional ones are the only ones I ever get.

I don't think it sucks per se, but it sure isn't what we as an audience are expecting from TB. And unless Marianne is gonna suddenly take over the show, having a brooding brunette in the woods makes no sense at all.

Had an animated discussion with a book-version at Balticon that basically came down to, "OK, yeah, you have to watch the show and just know it's not the books, and that's gonna hurt your brain sometimes, but it's very worth watching...and I really didn't want to like it."

I tried Harper's, but it never really 'grabbed' me; it looked good, but I'm not a huge fan of the murder/horror genre to start, and that was probably the problem.

I'll see what I can do about tracking down season one of 'True Blood' and give it a chance. I'm sure it's out there, somewhere!

Joe Buck's new show came about because Steve Phillips was unavailable i assume.

The brooding brunette could be referring to Claudine. She was supposed to show up now and then in season 1, but they cut her scenes from the pilot. But, yes, Marianne steals every scene she's in for at least the first four episodes of the season (according to Ausiello).

At least it still has Nelsan listed in the credits.
